The author manages to put you in the story from quite early on, you get to know the past of the heroes in a very beautiful way and inevitably, you bond with them since a very good job has been done with them.
It is a hard, unforgiving book...
From page 134 onwards I read with almost constantly watery eyes, some events hurt me a lot.
But there was no lack of anger and resentment, as well as other emotions that lasted even after I finished the story and closed the book.
Abuse is a very large and difficult chapter. It takes enough courage for a woman to escape from the various beliefs that keep her captive with her tyrant.
And yet, it could happen to all of us, no matter how hard we say - well, didn't he see the signs? Why didn't he leave with the first slap? Why did she believe him and forgive him?
Very intense but also so true. Events that shook me personally and made me run and give my husband and children a big hug.
I highly recommend!
