The author Maria Foskolou pleasantly surprised me. Her pen has power, truth and she knows how to narrate without tiring. Even if he deals with difficult social issues, such as child abuse, he knows how to describe difficult scenes and put you inside, take an active role, feeling the pain and every emotion. The images he created for me was to transport myself to that era and enter the protagonist Panagiota. I felt her deeply and that is important for a writer to be able to do. When a book manages to drag you into a chimera of emotions, makes you angry, laugh, happy, but most importantly tears, then the author has that something that not many have. A book that flowed effortlessly, I didn't want to put it down, I was anxious until the last page about how it will end, if there will be justice and happiness in a tortured soul. Can a child when he receives all kinds of abuse, leave it all behind and get up to live? Start from scratch? Will Panagiota find the strength and maturity to join her own puzzle with Louka's, a love so strong that it destroys even the pain of the soul?
Within the pages you will find answers that you did not imagine, many times you think that resignation will come. When life is divided into two puzzle pieces, you have the mental strength to persevere, to persevere until those two pieces become one. For me one of the best books of the year by an author who has a diamond pen.
